Argentina - June 6th, 2010

Several fires release plumes of smoke towards the South in northern-central Argentina. Several are clustered west of the ParanĂ¡ River (right side of image), while another is located east of the Andes Mountains (top center).

Also visible here are Mar Chiquita, the largest natural salt lake in Argentina (bottom center) and the salt flats of the Salinas Grandes to the northwest, white and tan in color. Upon opening the full image, several fires can be observed just north of Mar Chiquita.
