Fires in Ethiopia
In the close-up of the fires, at least half a dozen plumes of smoke can be seen rising up and blowing northwest.
Lake Tana, located in Ethiopia’s north-western highlands, is the source of the Blue Nile and is the country’s largest lake. The lower part appears green from algae.
It is approximately 84 kilometers long and 66 kilometers wide, with a maximum depth of 15 meters, and an elevation of 1,840 meters.
