Fire West of Casablanca and El Jadida, Morocco33.2N 8.5W
Morocco’s coastal plains appear green and fertile, in contrast with the drier terrain further inland as one approaches the Atlas Mountains. The Al Massira Reservoir appears as a dark blue area on the edge of where the green plains give way to drier, tan land.
Visible as a grey area on the coast due north of the lake is the city of Casablanca. Moving along the shoreline to the west, past El Jadida, a long plume of smoke from a fire can be observed blowing westward over the Atlantic Ocean (best observed in full image).
