Australia – January 10th, 2013

A plume of smoke from a fire in Cobboboonee National Park, Victoria, Australia, fans out towards the south. The  park and associated campsites are currently closed due to the fire, although authorities say the section of park east of Wrights Swamp Road will re-open Saturday morning, including Surry Ridge, Jackass and Wrights camping/picnic areas and Cubbys, Cut out, Cobboboonee and Fitzroy camps on the Great South West Walk. The Great South West Walk, including Moleside camp, will remain closed between Wright Swamp Road in Cobboboonee National Park and Pritchards campground in Lower Glenelg National Park until the fire is declared safe and recovery works are completed.
