Veil of Dust Over Persian Gulf

30.1N 47.7E

July 10th, 2012 Category: Dust Storms

Persian Gulf – July 7th, 2012

Dust sweeps southward from Iraq (upper left) and Iran (upper right) over the Persian Gulf. A plume is also visible inland, following an almost diagonal path, by the Iraq-Saudi Arabia-Kuwait border. Visible through the veil of dust over the Persian Gulf are sediments by the mouth of the Shatt al-Arab and along much of the lower coastline.
