Streaked Patterns in Dust Over Red Sea

15.8N 40.2E

September 5th, 2012 Category: Dust Storms

Red Sea – September 1st, 2012

Dust blows off the coast of Sudan (upper left) and Eritrea (lower left) and over the Red Sea. Visible through the dust is the Dahlak Archipelago, just off the coast of Eritrea. The parallel, streaked patterns in the dust are due to cross-currents of air.
