Plume of dust

Plume of dust

Dust particles float in the air over most of the Gulf of Sidra, off the coast of Libya.

Strong winds send a dense plume of dust offshore, below the southwestern end of the Jabal Al Akhdar (Green Mountain) and the city of Benghazi.

In the close-up, distinct trails of dust particles form thick parallel lines within the plume.
