Close-up

An immense dust storm with a spiralled form is blowing over Mongolia and central China.

The close-up focuses on the bands of sand swirling around a central “eye”.

Upon opening the main image, the spiral of sand and clouds can be seen reaching from just south of Lake Baikal in Russia, over most of central Mongolia, and down past the city of Yichuan, China.
