Persian Gulf – January 8th, 2013

A dust storm blows across the Middle East and over the northern part of the Persian Gulf. Here, despite the thick sand obscuring the ground below, the borders of Iran, Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia can be seen in grey due to the use of the Chelys Satellite Rapid Response System (SRRS) “borders” feature. Kuwait is being particularly affected by the storm, and its Meteorology Department has warned residents to expect high winds and low visibility.
