A large dust storm has been affecting northeastern Africa over the last few days. The first time it was observed on this site, it covered most of northern and central Sudan. It then proceeded eastward over Ethiopia, north of Lake Tana.

In this image, the cloud of dust has engulfed Lake Tana and covered much of northern Ethiopia. The dust has reached Eritrea on the coast of the Red Sea and is nearing the Dahlak Archipelago.

In the full image, the dust can be seen spreading into southern Egypt and blowing across the Red Sea into Saudi Arabia.
