A large plume of dust sweeps over the lower Persian Gulf, veiling  southern Iran (above) and Qatar (center left) and touching the coasts of  Saudi Arabia (left) and the United Arab Emirates (center).

This dust possibly originates from Iraq, which has been experiencing severe dust storms since the beginning of July (click here for previous article).

Upon opening the main image, dust can also be seen as far north as the Caspian Sea and as far south as the Gulf of Aden and the coast of Somalia.
