Dust Plumes Off Libyan Coast
Dust blows across Libya and into the Gulf of Sidra. Two main plumes are visible, one near the city of Benghazi (right) and one off the Cape of Misratah (left).
The plume near Benghazi, west of the partially visible Jabal Al Akhdar ( “Green Mountain”), is the larger of the two. The other, however, displays a slight ripple effect from air currents, and some clouds have begun to form around the dust particles.
