Red Sea - July 17th, 2010

Dust blows over the Red Sea, between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Although the precise origin of the airborne particles cannot be discerned, it appears that the dust is blowing west, towards Egypt.

In Egypt, the Nile River Delta and Valley appear green, as does the Faiyum Oasis (south of the delta and west of the river). This fertile band contrasts with the whitish yellow desert sands.
