Dust Over the Red Sea by Sudan

20.4N 38.0E

June 24th, 2011 Category: Dust Storms, Lakes, Rivers

Red Sea - June 21st, 2011

Dust hangs in the skies over the Red Sea, between Saudi Arabia (upper left) and Sudan. Strong winds often cause such dust storms in this region.

Visible along the left side of the image is the Nile River. After flowing northward across Sudan, it flows into Lake Nasser, mostly in Egypt, in the upper left corner.
