Dust Over Red Sea – July 5th, 2012

Dust spreads across the Red Sea, although it remains thickest near the shoreline, particularly that by the Saudi Arabia (top right) – Yemen (bottom right) border. There, the dust reaches across to islands that are part of Jizan, Saudi Arabia’s smallest province, which includes over 100 islands in the Red Sea. Visible in the lower right corner is the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, which connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden.
