Dust blows over the Red Sea (left) and the Gulf of Aden (right), between southwestern Saudi Arabia and Yemen, on the Arabian Peninsula (above) and Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti and Somalia, on the African continent (below).

In the full image, the rocky escarpment parallel to the coast of the Arabian Peninsula can be observed in great detail despite the veil of dust, as can volcanic areas near the African coast.
