Dust or Ash Off Eastern Coast of Argentina

39.5S 61.1W

September 26th, 2011 Category: Dust Storms, Rivers

Argentina - September 7th, 2011

Some dust or perhaps ash from the Puyehue-Cordón Caulle volcanic eruption in Chile can be seen in the air off the east coast of Argentina, east of Bahia Blanca and northeast of Peninsula Valdes.

Visible in the upper part of the image is the city of Buenos Aires, appearing as a tan area lighter than the surrounding landscape, on the shores of the Rio de la Plata Estuary.
