Dust blows northeastward off the coast of Libya, from the western limit of the Gulf of Sidra (left), far over the Mediterranean to Greece (upper right). Thicker dust can also be seen by the eastern end of the Jebel Akhdar, a heavily forested, fertile upland area in northeastern Libya (right edge).
