Dust Blowing Off Coasts of Oman and Yemen16.4N 52.2E
Several plumes of dust billow southwards, off the coasts of Yemen and Oman, over the Gulf of Aden and towards Somalia. They are part of the dust storm that has been raging over the Arabian Peninsula, spreading dust far east to Pakistan and west towards the African continent, over the last few days (click here for previous images).
The plumes originating in Yemen (left) are more intense than those originating in Oman (further east along the coast). Although it is spreading to the south, the dust does not quite reach Socotra Island, visible near the right edge.
