Cuba - April 15th, 2011

Cuba is an archipelago of islands located in the northern Caribbean Sea at the confluence with the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean.

The main island (Cuba) makes up most of the land area 105,006 km2 (40,543.0 sq mi). Its western end can be seen crossing the middle of the thumbnail image; the rest of the island is visible in the full image.

The largest island outside the main island is the Isla de la Juventud (Isle of Youth) in the southwest, with an area of 3,056 km2 (1,179.9 sq mi), visible in the lower part of this image. Some circular “popcorn” clouds dot the skies over both islands.
