Tropical Storm Norbert (15E)
Tropical Storm Norbert is moving northwest towards Baja California, though it is not expected to hit the peninsula directly. As of 2:00AM PDT on October 6th, it was located about 340 mi (545 km) south of Manzanillo, Colima.
It has maximum sustained winds of 55knots (65 mph, 100km/h) with higher gusts. and a minimum central pressure of 993 mbar (29.32 inches). The U.S. National Hurricane Center has forecasted that it will become stronger over the next 24 hours and has said that it could become a hurricane by tomorrow.
Norbert formed from a broad low pressure system south of Southern Mexico. On October 3rd, after about 4 days, this low pressure system turned into Tropical Depression 15E. It was then designated Tropical Storm Norbert late October 4th.
