Dust Storm Covering Entire Arabian Peninsula
A massive dust storm is covering the entire Arabian Peninsula.
The full image (open by clicking on thumbnail to the right) shows parts of Saudi Arabia, Yemen, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq and Kuwait, all of which are veiled by sand.
Sands are blowing across the Persian Gulf and beginning to reach southern Iran, as exemplified in the first close-up.
The second close-up focuses on southern Saudia Arabia, Yemen, and their nearby African neighbors: Eritrea, Djibouti and Somalia.
Current wind direction is keeping the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and those nearby African coastal countries free of sand for the time being.
